The elders recently had the opportunity to spend a day at a retreat center where we prayed together, discussed some strengths and growth areas of our team and our community, and talked about where we are as a community and where we see God directing us.
One of the things that came to the forefront as we acknowledged the stage of life we are currently in as a community is that we have a shortage of resources in a variety of areas – namely finances, worship leaders, kids ministry spaces, and volunteers for children’s ministry, set up, and other ministry areas. At the same time, we are sensing that we are entering an important season for our community – a time full of new possibilities and the need to grow in new directions.
With both of those things in mind, we are feeling a need to combine our Sunday gatherings for the next six months, starting with the first Sunday in November. Meeting together as one large community will give us an opportunity to listen to God together, consider our mission, vision, and core values, and create a path forward that reflects who we are and who we believe God is calling us to be.
